Major Hazards Department(MHD)

Regulator for Safety Case Regime:
Major Hazards Department(MHD) is the regulation agency of the Safety Case regime for Major Hazard Installations (MHIs), including Safety Case assessments, process-related incident investigation, MHI industry engagement and coordination of multi-agency matters relating to safety, health and environment.MHD is an inter-agency department formed in MOM on 1st September 2016 in order to manage safety case regime effectively, comprising officers from MOM, NEA and SCDF.

MHD also replaces the Safety and Risk Management Centre, or SRMC, as a coordinating center for Quantitative Risk Assessment submissions.
